Welcome to The Mahj Spot, an American mahjong game you can play on the web and in our mobile apps. Creating an account or playing means you agree to these terms. They are short on purpose; the spirit of all of them is "play fair and be kind."
The Mahj Spot is provided by The Tile Collective LLC, a Colorado limited liability company with its address at 1500 N Grant Street, Ste N, Denver, CO 80203 ("the Tile Collective", "we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between you and the Tile Collective, and every "we" below means that company.
You must be at least 13 years old. If you make an account you agree to give us accurate information and to keep your password to yourself.
We grant you a personal, non-commercial, non-transferable license to use the app and to enjoy the pieces on your account. Please do not copy, resell, reverse engineer, or misuse the service.
No cheating, no exploiting bugs for advantage, no harassing other players, and no automating play. Leaderboards only mean something if the games are honest, so we may reset stats, suspend, or close accounts that break this section. Serious breaches forfeit any refund.
Memberships are billed by Stripe at $5.99 a month or $59.99 a year and renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time from your account page (the Stripe customer portal); you keep membership benefits until the end of the period you paid for. Membership tile sets and mats are part of the membership and rest when it rests. Prices may change; we will give notice before a change affects a renewal.
Annual membership: a full refund within 14 days of any annual charge, on request. Monthly membership: cancel any time; we do not refund partial months. Billing mistakes (double charges, charges after a cancel): always refunded, no window. Boutique pieces: not happy? Email us within 14 days of purchase and we will refund it; the piece leaves your chest when the refund lands. Refunds are a goodwill policy, not a right: we may decline requests that abuse it (for example repeated buy-and-refund cycles). To request one, email support@mahj.spot from your account's email address.
Pieces in your chest are licensed to you, not sold: they have no cash value, cannot be transferred or exchanged, and are revoked if their purchase is refunded. We work to keep every piece available for as long as the Spot runs, and will give reasonable notice if one must retire.
The optional Venmo field is a convenience so friends can settle their own table stakes. We never move, hold, or guarantee money between players; any payment and any dispute about it is strictly between the players.
You can delete your account any time (see account deletion); deletion cancels a live membership so nothing further is charged, but does not refund the period already paid. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
We work hard to keep the tables open, but the Spot is provided "as is," without warranties, and we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of the Spot, are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Nothing here takes away a consumer protection you have under the law where you live.
