Effective August 1, 2026
The Mahj Spot is an American mahjong game provided by The Tile Collective LLC, a small team that would rather deal tiles than trade in your data. This page says plainly what we collect, why, and how to take it all back.
The Tile Collective LLC ("the Tile Collective", "we", "us"), a Colorado limited liability company, runs The Mahj Spot and is responsible for the information described here. Reach us any time at support@mahj.spot, or by post at 1500 N Grant Street, Ste N, Denver, CO 80203.
Your account: the email address you sign up with, your chosen @handle and display name, and a salted hash of your password (never the password itself). Sign in with Google or Apple and we store only the identity those services confirm; we never see your password there either.
Your play: games, wins, walls, and points, kept so your record and the leaderboards work. If you add a Venmo handle to your place card, we store it only to show it where you choose.
Your purchases: which tile sets, mats, and membership your account owns, plus the Stripe customer and subscription ids that map you to your payments. Card numbers never touch our servers; Stripe handles all payment details on their systems.
Technical: ordinary short-lived server logs (addresses and requests) used to keep the service healthy and abuse out.
No advertising, no ad trackers, and no selling or renting your information to anyone, ever.
Four processors, each getting only what their job needs: Stripe (payments and subscriptions), Resend (transactional email such as verification links), Google / Apple (optional sign-in), and Google Analytics (on the website only; see Cookies below). Your game traffic stays on our own servers, encrypted in transit.
Playing needs no cookies; your sign-in lives in the app itself. One HttpOnly cookie exists solely for our staff dashboard. On the website (mahj.spot in a browser) we will ask, once, whether Google Analytics may set its usual _ga cookies so we can see how many people visit and which rooms of the house they wander into. Say no and none are set; either way it never collects your name, email, or hands, and the mobile apps carry no analytics at all. Changed your mind? Clear the site's stored data in your browser and we will ask again.
Until you delete your account. Do that and we purge your account, stats, leaderboard entries, and ownership records right away; see account deletion for the full picture. Stripe retains payment records as financial regulations require.
The Spot is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
If this policy changes we will post the new version here with a fresh effective date. Questions or requests: write to The Tile Collective LLC at support@mahj.spot.
